About us:

H2 Green Steel aims to change the global steel industry by producing green steel, with the ultimate goal of reducing carbon dioxide emissions to zero. By using green hydrogen and fossil-free electricity instead of coal, water and heat will be our primary emissions. By 2030, our ambition is to produce 5 million tonnes of green steel per year in our fully integrated, digitized and sustainable facility in Boden in northern Sweden - which is currently under construction.

As a process engineer at H2 Green Steel, you have a critical role in optimizing and monitoring different stages of steel production to ensure efficiency, quality and safety. Your responsibilities include a range of tasks including analyzing production processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing improvements to overall performance.

As a process engineer, you collaborate with various departments within the steel mill, such as metallurgy, maintenance and operations, to streamline production flows. You monitor equipment performance, troubleshoot problems and implement preventive maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and maximize production.

We are looking for Process Engineers for the following areas: EAF, Caster, Hot Mill, Cold Mill and Galv line.

Areas of responsibility:

  • Support the work for Safety, Health, Environment and Quality.
  • Work with the Production Manager to develop training programs that support employee integrity, competence and to ensure an effective quality management system.
  • Monitor the department's organization and be responsible for the change work.
  • Ensure policies, procedures and all activities are implemented to support goals and objectives.
  • Ensure that department operations and facilities are well maintained
  • Work with the management team to develop and maintain an operating budget that meets department goals.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant engineering education or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated security focus and willingness to proactively apply it to your team.
  • Quality and detail oriented with superior problem solving and communication skills.
  • Motivated, self-motivated, practically oriented and willing to go the extra mile.
  • Considerable experience in process development and optimization.
  • Familiar with SMS equipment.
  • Experience of start-up and/or green field.
