Prestrud Center, Ward 2 is a long-term somatic care unit that provides round-the-clock care and nursing services. The ward has 27 beds. We have access to a full-time nursing home physician, and we emphasize person-centered care and quality of service.
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic nurse who thrives on varied workdays and who wants to contribute to a professionally strong environment.
The position involves a rotation of day and evening shifts, as well as every 3rd or 4th weekend, depending on whether the shifts are regular or extended. The position is available starting September 1, 2026. Interviews are scheduled for Friday, June 26.

Salary and benefits
- Hamar Municipality has its own pay scale for nurses, social care workers, and 3-year programs with requirements for further specialization, which provides NOK 35,000 above the guaranteed salary under the main collective bargaining agreement.

Job Responsibilities
- Comprehensive and professional nursing care of patients
- Assessment, observation, and evaluation of patients
- Implementing necessary measures from a nursing perspective
- Conducting doctor visits and follow-up work
- Planning, prioritizing, and carrying out work tasks in collaboration with colleagues
- Provide person-centered care tailored to the individual’s needs and resources
- Medication management and follow-up in accordance with applicable procedures and legislation
- Contribute to interdisciplinary collaboration
- Maintain contact, collaborate, and foster good relationships with family members

- Mentor students, trainees, colleagues, and family members
- Documentation in the Gerica care system

Qualifications
- Norwegian license as a nurse / specialized nurse
- Interest in elder care and/or mental health
- Experience from nursing homes is desirable
- You must have good communication skills, both in written and spoken Norwegian. Documentation of at least a passing grade on the B2 Norwegian language test is required
- Proficiency in ICT tools, preferably experience with the Gerica system
