Finsal Ward C is a specialized nursing home ward for people with cognitive impairment and dementia who require round-the-clock care and support. The unit currently has 22 long-term care beds and 2 short-term/assessment beds, and we work every day to create a sense of security, dignity, and positive experiences for our residents.

Attractive salary terms
Hamar Municipality has its own pay scale for nurses, social care workers, and employees with a three-year college degree where the position requires further specialization. This provides a supplement of NOK 35,000 above the guaranteed salary in accordance with the main collective bargaining agreement.

Job Responsibilities

  • Comprehensive nursing care for patients
  • Assessment, observation, and evaluation of patients
  • Providing person-centered care tailored to each individual’s needs and resources
  • Managing various types of behavior in a safe and responsible manner
  • Medication management and follow-up in accordance with applicable procedures and laws
  • Contribute to interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Maintain contact, collaborate, and foster good relationships with family members
  • Contribute to professional development, quality improvement, and maintaining a positive work environment
  • Documentation in the Gerica care management system
  • On-call duties for other departments as needed

Qualifications

  • Norwegian nursing license
  • Strong Norwegian language skills, both written and oral
  • Experience in dementia care or psychiatry is desirable
  • Experience with writing care plans, using documentation tools, and meeting regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in ICT tools
  • Passed the Norwegian language test at the B2 level

Hamar Municipality is in need of registered nurses and licensed practical nurses, and offers those who wish to work and live in the municipality the opportunity to apply for a starter loan for housing. To apply, you must hold at least a 50% permanent position as a nurse or social care worker, or have received a job offer that you intend to accept.
The starter loan can only be used to purchase a home in Hamar Municipality. You do not need any down payment to qualify for the starter loan, and you can borrow 100% of the purchase price. The condition is that you must be able to service the loan and are unable to obtain a loan from a regular bank.
