At Prestrud Center, Ward 3, amidst routines, coffee cups, and familiar faces: We now have a permanent position available.
It’s not often that we have permanent positions available. Maybe because everyday life here actually has meaning. Maybe because your colleagues are the ones you laugh with, learn from, and lean on when things get a little overwhelming. Or maybe because you—as a nurse—get to practice your profession the way you actually envisioned when you started your education.
This is where you come in.
A professional environment that actually delivers on its promises
With us, you’ll become part of a dedicated and competent team, where “collaboration” and “professional development” aren’t just buzzwords in the annual report, but actually happen around the lunch table, in the hallway, and in the reflection room. You’ll have the space to be curious, to ask questions, to wonder, to challenge—and to grow. And you’ll work closely with people who need exactly what you have to offer.
Where people thrive—and become
Health and Well-Being in Hamar Municipality focuses on services that provide people with security, a sense of mastery, and quality of life. And at Prestrud Center, one of the largest nursing homes in the municipality, you’ll find a diverse professional environment where people—both patients and staff—are the most important resource.
Ward 3 – where relationships matter
In Ward 3, we provide services to patients with cognitive impairment. Here, in bright and pleasant facilities with 24 patient beds and about 15 full-time equivalents, the job is about being close to people. Building trust. Being a reliable professional in their daily lives. We focus on person-centered care in collaboration with both the patient and their family.
And in the midst of all the professional work, there’s also room for a good laugh when the day allows it.
Practical—and predictable
What we offer is simple and clear:
We know what you’re worth
Hamar Municipality has its own pay scale for nurses, social care workers, and those with a 3-year college degree and further specialization—with up to NOK 35,000 above the guaranteed salary under the main collective bargaining agreement.
If you start a position with us and move to Hamar, you’ll have the opportunity to apply for a starter loan to purchase a home in Hamar Municipality. This allows you to borrow 100% of the purchase price without any down payment. See the “What We Offer” section for more detailed information.
Ready for a permanent position that gives you something in return?
If you want to be part of an inclusive community, grow professionally, and truly make a difference in people’s lives—every single day—we hope you’ll apply.
We look forward to hearing from you.
You’ll be an important part of our patients’ daily lives—both in the small moments and when it comes to major decisions. You’ll provide healthcare in accordance with laws and professional guidelines, and ensure that your work is well documented.
At the same time, you’ll help develop our services. We value colleagues who dare to think outside the box, who see opportunities, and who are eager to create even better experiences for our patients.
Your role also revolves around the people you meet along the way: patients, family members, colleagues, and students. You guide, explain, listen, and collaborate—and help foster a sense of security and empowerment in those who need it.
You’re the kind of person who actually likes people. Not necessarily everyone, all the time—but enough that you collaborate well and help keep the work environment both pleasant and reasonably healthy (we promise to do our part, too).
You take responsibility without making a big deal out of it, and you work independently without anyone having to follow you around with a reminder. When the workday goes from calm to “where’d lunch go?”—well, that’s when you keep a cool head and your heart rate… reasonably low.
You can handle a bit of pace, a bit of chaos, and a bit of humor (preferably all at once), and you have both the physical and mental health to thrive in a profession that demands you be fully present—in a good way, that is.
