The City of Hamar plans to open the Høbben Youth Center in the fall of 2026. The youth center will be part of the City of Hamar’s preventive youth work and is located in the heart of downtown Hamar. In addition to serving as an open gathering place for young people, the youth center will be a hub for preventive youth work, with Utekontakten and the Youth Health Clinic located on the same premises.
Høbben will be an open and inclusive meeting place for young people.
The positions advertised involve evening shifts every other weekend (Friday and Saturday), and possibly some evening shifts on weekdays.
Job Responsibilities
- Club work – being present for young people at the Youth Center.
- Communicating with, guiding, and building relationships with young people who use the center’s services.
- Organize and assist with activities and events at the center.
Qualifications
- Experience in environmental therapy is preferred for at least one of the positions. A bachelor’s degree in social and health sciences or education is preferred.
- Other experience and expertise may be considered based on personal suitability.
- Experience working with children and youth is preferred.
- You have an interest in or knowledge of music, gaming, or other recreational activities.
Personal Qualities
- You are committed to working with children and youth and are able to show care and warmth.
- You have strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Personal suitability is emphasized.
