The School of Music and Performing Arts shall provide education of high academic and pedagogical quality to all children and young people who want it. The purpose of the education is to learn, experience, create and communicate cultural and artistic expressions. Schools of Music and Performing Arts are a central part of the continuous education that can qualify pupils with particular interest and motivation for admission to higher education in the arts. Schools of Music and Performing Arts should contribute to the education of children and young people, promote respect for other people's cultural affiliation, raise awareness of one's own identity, become critically reflective and develop one's own life skills. This position is linked to the subject area of music.

The School of Music and Performing Arts is located in Hamar Kulturhus, close to bus and train connections.


Tasks


Instrumental training individually or in groups, and in interaction with other students
Adapt teaching to all age groups and levels.
Collaborate with other culture school teachers to organize concerts and events for students.
Contribute to the School of Music and Performing Arts' collaboration with local cultural life and schools
Contribute to the development of the School of Music and Performing Arts.
Preparation for teaching, planning work and teacher meetings take place during the day. Teaching takes place in SFO time and in the afternoon.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 - 4-year instrumental education on horn/brass instrument from a music academy/college or performing competence with PPU. Other relevant education and experience may be considered.

You have good competence as a performer on horn and possibly other brass instruments
You master teaching students at all levels. From beginner to advanced.
You teach students individually/group and in interaction with other students.
It is important that you can cooperate well with the bands in the municipality.
You are fluent in Norwegian, both in a teaching situation and as an active participant in professional development work among colleagues.
A valid police certificate in accordance with § 10-9 of the Education Act must be presented before appointment
Knowledge of digital tools as a tool in music education and development is desirable
