Are you the one?
Would you like to help develop a more digital records management system?

Records management is a rapidly evolving field—it’s no longer “just archives.” New digital solutions, automation, and artificial intelligence are changing how the municipality handles documentation, case management, and information management.

That’s why we’re now strengthening our document center with a new advisor who will help develop workflows, systems, and solutions for the future.

This position is for someone who thrives at the intersection of records management, technology, and development work.

Become a key player in the development of this field

As a documentation management advisor, you will play a central role in the municipality’s efforts to develop a more efficient, digital, and forward-looking documentation management system.
You will help develop work processes, ensure high-quality documentation, and serve as a professional advisor to managers and staff. At the same time, you’ll help further develop the municipality’s case management and archiving systems and implement new digital solutions that simplify day-to-day work.

This is a new position. This means you’ll have a great opportunity to influence both the scope of the role and how the municipality approaches records management in the years to come.

Become part of a professional environment in development
The Document Center consists of about ten employees with diverse expertise in records management. Together, we are responsible for the municipality’s records management, case and archive systems, and providing professional guidance to the entire organization.

We actively work to improve work processes, adopt new technology, and develop solutions that make records management simpler, more efficient, and more user-friendly. With us, you’ll be part of a friendly and professional team that shares knowledge, collaborates closely, and is committed to advancing the field.

Here’s what you’ll contribute
Your responsibilities will include, among other things:

  • professional advice, guidance, and user support in the field of records management
  • further development and improvement of the municipality’s records management processes through procedures, standardization, digitization, and automation
  • management and further development of the municipality’s case management and archiving systems and associated integrations, including contributing to the team responsible for the day-to-day operation and monitoring of the municipality’s case management system (Plan & Build and the newly established Elements)
  • quality assurance and compliance with laws, regulations, and internal procedures
  • retrieval and transfer of digital archives
  • training and professional development for municipal employees
  • participation in day-to-day records management, including mail processing and filing

Records management is a field that is constantly evolving. Your responsibilities will therefore evolve in line with new needs, new technology, and the municipality’s initiatives.

We believe you’ll thrive with us if you…

…enjoy improving the way things are done.

You’re motivated by finding good solutions, see opportunities in new technology, and enjoy translating regulations and professional requirements into practical work processes. You work in a structured manner, but are also curious and committed to development. The role involves a great deal of collaboration and mentoring. Therefore, it is important that you communicate well, build strong relationships, and enjoy making technical issues understandable to others.

We are looking for someone with the following qualifications:

  • relevant higher education at the bachelor’s level or higher. Particularly relevant experience may compensate for the educational requirement
  • experience with records management and case and archive systems, preferably from the public sector
  • a good understanding of the use of technology within the field, preferably experience with digitization or automation of work processes
  • Good knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Archives Act, the Public Administration Act, the Freedom of Information Act, and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in Norwegian

Why You Should Apply

With us, you’ll have a role where you can influence how the municipality approaches records management in the years to come. You’ll be part of a skilled professional team with a strong commitment to development, and you’ll have a varied workday that combines technology, consulting, system administration, and development work.

We also offer:

  • salary to be negotiated
  • flexible work schedule
  • membership in the Municipal Pension Fund (KLP) with excellent pension and insurance plans
  • an inclusive workplace that is an IA-certified company
