The Hamar Intermunicipal Crisis and Competence Center is a service that provides comprehensive support to people who are subjected to violence or threats of violence in intimate relationships. The service is free and open 24 hours a day. It is a low-threshold service; no referral is needed to receive help. The crisis center offers temporary, protected, and safe housing. We offer counseling in the form of advice and guidance, as well as structured and therapeutic sessions. We are committed to creating a sense of security and predictability in the daily lives of people in crisis. We work with people in vulnerable life situations to help them regain a sense of control over their lives, restore their faith in the future, and experience hope. The Hamar Intermunicipal Crisis and Competence Center is involved in several different projects focused on the integration of various minority groups. We collaborate with NASAK (National Sami Competence Center), the Center for Gender Equality, and Skeiv Kunnskap, where we actively work to develop inclusive and safe services for everyone.

The crisis center has 14 permanent employees, totaling 11 full-time equivalents. Everyone works on a rotating shift schedule, except for the director. We have 9 partner municipalities, of which Hamar is the host municipality for the service. We are organized into 3 teams that work with children, adults, and an environmental team.

Hamar Municipality is an IA-certified employer.

Employees at the Crisis Center take pride in a positive work environment and a high level of expertise. As a new employee, you will receive thorough training in our specialized systems and our field of expertise.
