Duties


What do you get to work with?

As head of building control in Hamar municipality, you will be responsible for the daily operation and development of the department. In the role, you will have full professional, financial and personnel responsibility, and are a leader who strives to build a unified culture with a focus on professional weight, efficiency, willingness to find solutions, cooperation and, not least, a good working environment. You will have a central role as a professional sparring partner for both employees and other parts of the municipality, and will be responsible for ensuring that you and your employees are professionally updated at all times. Not least, you will ensure compliance and that deliveries are in line with legislation, regulations and deadlines in construction cases:

  • overall responsibility for the processing of building and subdivision cases in accordance with the Planning and Building Act and other associated legislation with regulations. This also includes overall responsibility for supervisory cases and illegality follow-up.
  • follow up and implement national and local frameworks and guidelines in the area
  • full professional, financial and personnel responsibility for the department
  • assist in the preparation of cases for the political level

Qualifications

  • Relevant higher education, such as engineering, law or architecture. Significant prior learning and extensive experience in the field may compensate for lack of education
  • Experience working with the Planning and Building Act and a good understanding of applicable legislation
  • Experience from municipal/public administration is desirable
  • Very good written and oral presentation skills in Norwegian
  • Management experience is desirable, However, we would like to hear from you if you are a budding leader with a strong motivation and ability to take on the role of leader
