Are you the one?

Are you the trusted professional we need for the night shift?

For us, the night shift is both a professional role and a caring one. You help ensure safe nights through comprehensive care and support, observation, and monitoring of residents’ health. With a watchful eye, professional judgment, and thorough documentation, you ensure that residents receive proper and safe care throughout the night.

You administer medications as delegated, document entries in patient records, and collaborate closely with nurses, colleagues, and other professional teams. Together, you contribute to sound operations and safeguard patient safety when the need arises.

At Prestrudsenteret, you’ll find a work environment characterized by professionalism, collaboration, and person-centered care. Ward 1 is a somatic long-term care ward with 28 beds, and the nursing home physician holds a full-time position shared between two long-term care wards. Here, the residents’ needs are the focus, and colleagues support one another to provide excellent care.

At Health and Well-being in Hamar Municipality, we work to promote well-being, quality, and safety in everyday life. Our employees are our most important resource—and that little extra happens in the interactions between people, every single day and night.

Do you want to be the one who provides a sense of security while others sleep?
Then we’d love to hear from you. Join our night team and send us your application today

As part of the night team, your responsibilities will include:

You’ll be the one ensuring a safe night for the residents in the somatic long-term care unit. You’ll provide comprehensive care and support, monitor and follow up on residents’ health status, and provide medical care in accordance with applicable laws, professional guidelines, and your own professional judgment.

You will document relevant observations and interventions in the patient records and administer medications as delegated and in accordance with established procedures. When situations arise, you will make the necessary professional assessments and help ensure that patients receive appropriate and safe care throughout the night.

You work closely with nurses, other professional groups, and night-shift colleagues, and contribute to a good flow of information and interdisciplinary care. When necessary, you will also be in contact with family members and other healthcare personnel.

With your calm presence, you contribute to safe operations, ensure patient safety, and provide reassurance to residents so they can sleep soundly through the night

Qualifications—these are the strengths you bring to the night shift

  • You hold a Norwegian license as a healthcare worker
  • Or you are a healthcare worker with relevant continuing education
  • Experience in geriatrics and/or psychiatry is a major advantage.
  • You handle IT tools without any drama
  • You have a good command of Norwegian, both written and spoken
  • You have a valid work and residence permit and have passed the Norwegian language test at the B2 level

In short: you have the expertise, composure, and language skills to be a source of reassurance in the dark—and the professional our team needs.

Personal qualities—this is you at your best

You see solutions where others get stuck, and contribute positively to both the professional and work environments. You collaborate well, but work just as confidently on your own, using flexibility and a sense of responsibility as your natural tools.

You communicate clearly, build strong relationships, and are a professional driving force that colleagues and students can rely on. Structure, organization, and dedication describe you well—and you approach each day with positivity and a professional demeanor.

You contribute to a healthy psychosocial work environment—because you know that good care starts with a good culture. You bring motivation, professional dedication, and good health—both physical and mental—which enable you to be fully present when it matters most.

Ultimately, personal fit is crucial —and we’re looking for exactly the kind of person who makes both patients and colleagues feel a little safer when you’re on the job.

We offer

With us, you’ll receive a salary in accordance with national and local agreements, and you’ll become part of a large and diverse professional community where tasks vary and no two days are alike.
