Job Responsibilities

• Medical follow-up and treatment of a wide range of diagnoses and conditions.
• A broad interdisciplinary approach to creating effective patient care pathways in collaboration with other professional groups.
• The position involves medical responsibility for a short-term care unit and a long-term care unit at two different nursing homes.
• The nursing home physician will have medical responsibility and shared responsibility for patient care pathways across units within the Institutional Services Department.
  
• Contribute to mentoring and internal training for staff.
• Work with family members.
• Collaborate with the nursing home chief physician and other medical staff within the Institutional Care Service.
• Collaborate with the specialist health service and other relevant partners.
  

Qualifications

• Norwegian medical license
• Completed LIS1
  
• Interest in and/or experience working in geriatrics or geriatric and nursing home medicine is desirable
• It is desirable that the applicant be a specialist in general practice or be in the process of specializing in general practice or another relevant specialty.
• Very good oral and written communication skills in Norwegian
