Børstad ungdomsskole is looking for a committed, clear and development-oriented principal who will lead the school's further development with a strong focus on student learning and well-being.

Through "Børstadveien", the school has developed a clear direction for its educational work. As principal, you will have a central role in further developing this practice, which is characterized by interdisciplinary theme periods, a high degree of student participation and teaching that promotes engagement, collaboration and learning for all students.

The school has an active professional community where reflection, experience sharing and joint development of practice are central. The principal is expected to be a driving force for collective learning and contribute to strengthening uniform practice. Together with an interdisciplinary environment team, the principal will also ensure a safe, inclusive and good learning environment for all students.

Børstad ungdomsskole is located in the eastern part of Hamar, with Hamar sports park, Børstad artificial turf field and Børstad frisbee golf park as the nearest neighbors. The school has 318 students and 45 employees, and has a welcome class for newly arrived secondary school students in need of basic Norwegian education.

Tasks

• Further develop a safe and inclusive learning community for all students
• Lead the professional community and educational development work at the school
• Ensure good student participation and further develop the good collaboration with parents
• Ensure a safe, good and inclusive working environment for all employees
• Manage the school's resources in a way that ensures a good organization for learning, well-being and mastery within the allocated financial framework
• Be an active contributor in the leadership community in Hamarskolen

Qualifications

• Relevant school leadership experience, preferably as a principal
• Relevant pedagogical education, preferably with teaching expertise
• Desirable with leadership education, but management experience can compensate for education
• Experience in leading development and change processes
• Good financial and system understanding
• Good written and oral presentation skills
