Would you like to help enrich the life of a wonderful 12-year-old boy about every third weekend?
“Markus” is a good boy who needs an extra family in his life. The family must have the warmth and time to provide him with care, security, and wonderful experiences. “Markus” is a boy who’s easy to like and grow fond of. He’s active, positive, and interested in soccer. He enjoys being with others and needs practice participating in activities with other children and being away from his mom.
“Markus” lives primarily with his mom, who is in need of respite care for a period of time. The desired frequency at this time is approximately every third weekend, but the need may decrease over time.
Child Welfare Services is looking for a family that can serve as an additional resource for “Markus” and provide both a calm, everyday routine as well as experiences and activities. You must have access to your own car, as driving and pick-ups are expected as part of the assignment.
The host family must cooperate with the Child Welfare Services and write brief quarterly reports related to the assignment.
There are no formal education requirements, but personal suitability and commitment are essential. You must love children and be able to grow to love other people’s children.
It is a great advantage if you have children of your own who are around the same age, as well as a positive male role model in the family. Approval, if granted, is based on a home visit, and if you are assigned a case by us, you must provide a police clearance certificate.
“Markus” has experienced several relationship breakdowns, so we are looking for a host family that has the time and opportunity to take on this assignment for an extended period, as he will form a bond with you.
We’d like to hear from you if you:
