You don’t need a background in health or social work. The most important thing is that you’re a confident, positive, and reliable person who enjoys being around other people.

A few hours of your time can mean a great deal to someone else.

What is a leisure companion?

As a leisure companion, you help people with various health challenges enjoy a more active and meaningful leisure life. Together, you’ll find activities that suit their interests, wishes, and needs. These might include:

  • Walks or exercise
  • Visits to cafés
  • Movies or cultural activities
  • Swimming

You don’t need any special prior knowledge. Your interests, experiences, and personal qualities are what matter most. We welcome people of all ages, and men are encouraged to apply.

What’s in it for you?

As a volunteer, you’ll get:

  • The opportunity to make an important contribution to the community
  • Valuable experience working with people
  • Training and guidance as needed
