
The Faculty of Health and Social Sciences, Section of Health and Exercise Physiology now has a vacancy for a 100% permanent position as Associate Professor.
The Section of Health and Exercise Physiology offers studies in sports science and has extensive research and laboratory activities. The position includes both teaching and R&D tasks, and will be closely associated with the section's molecular biology laboratory and the Research Group Trainome. The section is part of the Department of Public Health and Sports Science, a department that is committed to contributing to increased competence in exercise and health, public health work, the role of the coach, teacher in physical education and sports science, physiotherapy or dentistry. The section's main place of work is at the Lillehammer campus, but teaching at other campuses may occur.
The department has a strong and active academic environment and many of the department's employees are affiliated with research groups. These have research projects in collaboration with relevant academic environments nationally and internationally. The faculty's PhD program "Health and Welfare" (HELVEL) is an interdisciplinary research education based on social science, health science, public health science and sports science.

Documented practical-pedagogical education and experience from teaching and supervision at university and college level, Cf. Regulations to the Universities and University Colleges Act. Applicants who are unable to document pedagogical competence at the time of appointment are obliged to complete the university's course in pedagogy or equivalent within two years of appointment.

The assessment of which candidate is best qualified is based on an overall assessment of education, experience and personal suitability and other qualification requirements as formulated in the advertisement, in addition to motivation for the position.
If there is no applicant who satisfies the competence requirements for permanent employment, a temporary appointment may be made for up to one year in a lower position, cf. Act relating to universities and university colleges § 7-3.
The position and duties must be carried out in accordance with applicable laws and regulations for government employees, including the Act on the Control of Exports of Strategic Goods, Services and Technology, etc. Candidates who, after assessment of the application and attachments, come into conflict with the criteria in the latter Act, may not take up the position. Necessary approvals must be maintained throughout the employment relationship.
