With us, you’ll meet students from all over the world and help them feel welcome, settle in, and become part of the community. You’ll help create gathering places and activities, and connect students to the region’s cultural and athletic life. You’ll serve as a point of contact for international students and provide information, guidance, and practical support before their arrival and throughout their studies.

What will you be a part of?

You’ll be part of the central international office at INN, based in Lillehammer. The office is the university’s academic hub for international educational cooperation and works closely with students and academic departments on everything from student and staff mobility to Erasmus and the EMERGE university alliance.

You will collaborate closely with the other staff members at the international office and with colleagues in other parts of the organization.

Here’s what you’ll be working on

This position offers a varied workday that includes student contact, administrative tasks, and organizing activities. You’ll provide support to international students before their arrival and throughout the semester.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Informing and advising international students about arrival, daily student life, and practical matters before and during their studies, and contributing to up-to-date information and dialogue on digital platforms.
  • Recruiting and supporting international student mentors in collaboration with Fadderuka
  • Assisting with application processing, admissions, and student administration, including processing applications for tuition waivers
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of student welcome events, orientation weeks, and informational meetings
  • Plan and carry out social activities and small-scale events in collaboration with student groups.
  • Coordinate collaboration with local cultural and sports organizations and promote volunteer opportunities to international students.

Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Working hours are primarily during the day, but some evening work may be required.

Who are you?

You must have a good knowledge of the Lillehammer campus, as well as the city of Lillehammer and the surrounding area. You must have strong written and oral communication skills in Norwegian and English. Proficiency in additional languages would be an advantage.

We are looking for someone who is eager to learn, takes initiative, has good basic IT skills, and enjoys working with students from other cultures.

The evaluation of which candidate is best qualified will be a comprehensive assessment of education, experience, and personal suitability, in addition to motivation and other qualification requirements as stated in the job posting.

We offer
