About the position

CREDS is the University of Innlandet's research center for digitalization and sustainability, and the center is
located in the research park in Kongsvinger. The research center conducts high quality research and responds to the need for knowledge related to sustainability, digitization and business development at a regional, national and international level. The research center works closely with the
regional business community and the region's need for expertise and new knowledge about sustainability and
digitalization.


The position is linked to Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences - Faculty of Business and Economics
social sciences (HHS).


The position is 100%, fixed-term position over 4 years, with the possibility of renewal (re-appointment) 2 times
(up to 12 years in total).

Responsibilities and duties

Overarching area of responsibility and academic activities


Lead and further develop the Research Centre for Sustainability and Digitalization (CREDS).


The Head of Research has the authority and responsibility for the academic development, organization and content
of the research centre. This means that the Head of Research has the academic responsibility for the planning and implementation of the research center's activities. This includes the development of project applications and the prioritization of academic tasks for the center's employees.


Key tasks

  • Overall responsibility for the center's academic and strategic development
  • Contribute to the establishment of an independent and sustainable funding model for the center
  • Further develop research alliances and networks nationally and internationally within the center's subject areas
  • Strengthen and further develop collaboration with the center's partners
  • Collaborate with other units, employees and managers at the University of Inland Norway
  • Further develop the research center's project portfolio
  • Professional management of the center's employees
  • Professional advice and support for the subject area's projects and activities
  • Lead the center's international work
  • Operative research work
  • Dissemination

The Head of Research will contribute with an overall strategic and long-term competence development to
ensure that the research center is developed in line with the faculty's academic strategies.


The Head of Research is expected to collaborate closely with the dean, vice-deans, heads of department, head of externally funded activities, other members of the management team and the research administration at the faculty.

The position will have administrative support. The head of research is employed at one of the faculty's departments


Other tasks can be added to the position as needed.


Qualifications

Formal qualifications

  • Professional qualifications as associate professor or professor within one of the faculty's
    subject areas, according to the competence requirements in Forskrift til universitets- og høyskoleloven
  • very good written and oral presentation skills in Norwegian/Scandinavian and English


Experience competence

  • documented research competence and experience, national and international
  • experience with research management
  • leadership experience from knowledge organizations
  • good knowledge of and relationships with business and society in the region
  • good insight into the research fields of sustainability and/or digitalization is a prerequisite

The position and associated tasks must be carried out in accordance with applicable laws and regulations for government employees, including the Act on Control of Exports of Strategic Goods, Services and Technology, etc. Candidates who, after assessment of the application and attachments, conflict with the criteria in the latter act, will not be able to take up the position at the University of Inland Norway.
