
The Department of Social Work and Counseling, Faculty of Health and Social Sciences, is currently seeking to fill a permanent, full-time (100%) position as professor, associate professor, or senior lecturer in career counseling.
The section is part of the Department of Social Sciences and Counseling and offers a master’s degree in career counseling, as well as continuing education and professional development programs in counseling and career counseling. The academic community at the section consists of faculty members with expertise in counseling, career counseling, pedagogy, labor market inclusion, and professional practice. They form an active and development-oriented academic community characterized by collaboration, professional commitment, and close ties to the field. Emphasis is placed on collegial support, knowledge sharing, and the development of flexible and work-relevant educational programs.
Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences has one of Norway’s leading academic environments in the fields of counseling and career guidance. The department collaborates closely with public and private actors in education, the workforce, NAV, and career centers. The position offers the opportunity to influence the development of a socially relevant field of study that is growing in importance both nationally and internationally. The position is based at the Lillehammer campus.
In this position, you will contribute to the development and implementation of educational programs in counseling and career counseling. Together, we will train qualified career counselors and counselors, develop study programs relevant to the workforce, and strengthen collaboration between us and relevant stakeholders at the national and regional levels.

Pedagogical competence:
Documented practical pedagogical training and experience in teaching and supervision at the university and college level, cf. Regulations to the University and College Act. Applicants who cannot document pedagogical competence at the time of hire are required to complete the university’s course in pedagogy or an equivalent program within two years of hire.
