We are looking for a strategically strong pro-rector for education who will play an important role in positioning us as a key player in society both regionally, nationally and internationally.
You will have a central leadership role with responsibility for translating the board's and rector's strategic goals into concrete results in education. You will lead the development of the organization with a focus on quality, efficient use of resources and continuous improvement. With professional authority, you provide direction and deliver services that ensure good governance, solid management and professional development in the field of education.
As pro-rector, you will be appointed on a fixed-term basis for four years, with the possibility of one renewal, giving a total appointment period of up to eight years.

In collaboration with the Rector and institutional management, you will develop a unified management structure, strengthen the management team, and ensure management capacity throughout the organization. You coordinate and collaborate on educational work between the institutional level, the faculties, and relevant units in the university administration.
You develop and ensure solid study programs with high academic and pedagogical quality, and ensure access to education throughout the life cycle. You further develop the university's study portfolio, including externally funded activities, in interaction with working life and society, in accordance with strategic guidelines. You ensure that R&D-based education is of high quality.
You collaborate with the rector and institutional management to position INN as a key player in the higher education landscape and society, both regionally, nationally and internationally. Together with the Pro-Vice-Chancellor R&D, you keep track of societal trends and developments in higher education and research, with a special focus on education policy.
You promote educational quality by supporting digitization and flexible forms of learning, strengthen internationalization in education, and actively contribute to INN's work on gender equality and diversity. You safeguard a vibrant student democracy and collaborate with student representatives.

The assessment of which candidate is best qualified will be a comprehensive assessment of qualifications as formulated in the ad text. Leadership experience and personal suitability will be given particular weight in addition to education, motivation and other qualification requirements as formulated in the text of the advertisement.
The position and associated tasks must be carried out in accordance with applicable laws and regulations for government employees, including the Act on Control of Exports of Strategic Goods, Services and Technology, etc. Candidates who, after assessment of the application and attachments, conflict with the criteria in the latter act, will not be able to take up the position at the University of Inland Norway.
