School Bus Planner

Would you like to help ensure safe and efficient school bus service?

Innlandstrafikk is responsible for planning, contracting, and further developing public transportation in the Innlandet region. We are now looking for a dedicated and organized employee who wants to help ensure a high-quality, safe, and efficient school transportation service for students throughout the county.

The position is located in the Mobility Management unit, which plays a central role in school transportation, route planning, analysis, contract management, and quality development. We take a data-driven and goal-oriented approach to developing the mobility solutions of the future, and you will be an important part of this work.

About Innlandstrafikk

Innlandstrafikk is Innlandet County Municipality’s center of expertise for public transportation and mobility. We plan, procure, and develop safe, efficient, and user-friendly public transportation services for the entire county.

Our work includes route planning, analyses, school transportation, tender and contract management, operations and quality assurance of transportation services, as well as the development of new mobility and digitalization solutions.

We have offices in Lillehammer and Folldal, and we work every day to create a modern, sustainable, and forward-looking mobility system for the residents of Innlandet.

Job Responsibilities

As a school transportation planner, you will be part of a professional team working to ensure a comprehensive and efficient transportation service for schoolchildren in Innlandet. You will collaborate closely with municipalities, schools, transportation providers, and internal professional teams.

Your responsibilities will include, among other things:

  • process applications for school transportation and assign appropriate transportation services
  • make decisions in accordance with applicable regulations and the Public Administration Act
  • respond to inquiries from students, parents, municipalities, and schools
  • contributing to budget monitoring and cost control
  • collaborating with transportation providers to ensure effective transportation solutions
  • participating in project, development, and improvement initiatives
  • contribute to the further development of work processes and digital solutions

The job responsibilities are varied, and you will have the opportunity to influence the development of the school transportation services in Innlandet.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • a college degree at the bachelor’s level or higher in HR and management or social work
  • strong written and oral communication skills in Norwegian
  • experience with case management and school transportation planning
  • strong digital skills

Relevant work experience may compensate for a lack of formal education.

It is an advantage if you have:

  • knowledge of public administration
  • knowledge of regulations related to school transportation
  • experience with analysis or planning work
