At our dental clinics in Nord-Østerdal—namely, the Alvdal, Folldal, Tolga, and Os dental clinics—we have a full-time (100%) permanent position available as a dental hygienist, to start as soon as possible. 

The position is currently split between the Alvdal and Folldal dental clinics (50%) and the Tolga and Os dental clinics (50%). The successful candidate will primarily work at the Alvdal and Tolga dental clinics, but this may change in the future depending on the clinics’ needs and staffing situation. 

If desired, you may apply for only one of the 50% positions. In that case, please specify in your application which position you are applying for: 50% at Alvdal/Folldal or 50% at Tolga/Os.

In Innlandet County, we place particular emphasis on ensuring that our dental hygienists have an increased presence out in the municipalities. Regular dental hygienist duties at the dental clinics are combined with outreach work.

The goal is to strengthen health promotion efforts and increase awareness of oral health in all settings.

All dental hygienists in Innlandet County become part of a public health team that works closely with colleagues at the dental clinics.

About the Clinic

At the Alvdal and Folldal dental clinics, the staff consists of a total of: 2.0 dentist positions, 1.1 dental hygienist positions, and 2.0 dental office assistant positions.

At the Tolga and Os dental clinics, the staff consists of a total of: 2.2 dentist positions, 0.5 dental hygienist position, and 1.6 dental health secretary/assistant positions.

About the Position

  • 100% or 2 x 50% permanent dental hygienist position(s) at the following dental clinics in Nord-Østerdal: Alvdal, Folldal, Tolga, and Os, are available for immediate hire.
  • The dental clinics serve adult, fee-paying patients in addition to the treatment groups mandated by law. 
  • The primary work locations are Alvdal Dental Clinic, Grindegga 26, 2560 Alvdal (50% position) and Tolga Dental Clinic, Ivarsvei 2, 2540 Tolga (50% position)

Qualifications

  • The appointment will be based on a comprehensive assessment of the interview, education, work experience, and references.
  • You should have a Class B driver’s license and access to a car.

We require

  • Norwegian licensure as a dental hygienist.
  • You must be fluent in Norwegian/Scandinavian, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

Applicants for permanent dental hygienist positions are expected to participate in clinical training and mentoring of dental hygiene students.
A course in clinical supervision is offered by Innlandet University College, Elverum campus.
The schedule for the supervisory role and any training will be agreed upon in collaboration with the chief dental officer.
