About Inland Transportation

The Inland Transportation Section of the Transportation Department is Innlandet County Municipality’s center of expertise for mobility and public transportation. The section plans, commissions, and develops safe, efficient, and user-friendly public transportation services for the entire county. Its work includes route planning, analyses, school transportation, tender and contract management, operations, and quality assurance of services, as well as the development of new mobility and digitalization solutions. Innlandstrafikk is based in Lillehammer and Folldal and works to create a modern, sustainable, and forward-looking public transit system for the residents of Innlandet.

Innlandstrafikk is seeking a strategic, development-oriented, and unifying leader for our new mobility development unit. This is a unique opportunity for someone who wants to lead innovation, digitalization, and service development in a public service mission that makes a difference in people’s lives—every day.

As head of the unit, you’ll have a key role in driving innovation, digitalization, and the development of new mobility solutions at Innlandstrafikk. The role is designed to ensure that positive and predictable customer experiences are central to the development of public transportation services and to help the division deliver comprehensive and forward-looking services. You will lead a highly skilled professional team and become an important part of the management team at Innlandstrafikk.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Mobility Development unit, with responsibility for staff, expertise, and results
  • Initiate and implement innovation and development projects in the areas of mobility, digitalization, and artificial intelligence
  • Ensure that customer experience and user-friendliness are integrated into all solutions and services
  • Develop and follow up on strategies for market communication and branding of public transit services
  • Collaborate closely with Mobility Management and Customer Services to ensure seamless travel experiences and a strong customer focus
  • Represent the unit in dialogue with external partners, suppliers, and other stakeholders
  • Contribute to the section’s strategic development and be an active part of the management team at Innlandstrafikk
  • The position may include other tasks within the section’s area of responsibility

  • Personnel Responsibilities: Management, development, and follow-up of employees
  • Financial Responsibility: Budget, resource management, and planning
  • Performance Responsibility: Ensuring that the unit delivers in line with goals, plans, and quality requirements

About the Position

  • Newly created full-time (100%) permanent position with immediate start date
  • Inland Traffic is based in Lillehammer, but we can offer various forms of flexibility for candidates with the right qualifications

Qualification Requirements

  • Higher education, preferably at the master’s level, ideally in technology, innovation, marketing communications, economics, or management

Desired Qualifications

  • Management experience is a plus, as is experience in project management or coordination roles
  • Experience in strategic work, digital transformation, innovation processes, or marketing
  • A strong understanding of customer experience and how technology can enhance it
  • The ability to see the big picture and deliver results at the intersection of technology, the market, and social mission
