Karriere Innlandet Kongsvinger has an opening for a full-time (100%) permanent position as an English teacher with expanded responsibilities for IKO work and as a career counselor
The Career Center aims to closely monitor our participants in order to prevent social exclusion and dropouts from the training program. IKO stands for Identification – Assessment and Follow-up.
About the unit
The Career Center is part of the Adult Learning Unit and Innlandet County Council’s initiative for career guidance and adult learning. The Career Center’s responsibilities include offering career guidance, overseeing upper-secondary education for adults, and facilitating decentralized vocational college and higher education programs. The Career Center collaborates on guidance and training services with the labor market, the business community, municipalities, and NAV.

About the Position
100% permanent position as IKO coordinator, subject teacher, and career counselor, divided into 70% career counselor and 30% teacher
Start date: November 1, 2026, or as agreed.
You will be employed by Innlandet County Municipality and based at Karriere Innlandet Kongsvinger
You should expect some travel.
Job Responsibilities
Coordinate IKO activities at the center and with Karriere Innlandet
career guidance tailored to the career center’s target groups
collaboration with external partners such as NAV in the region
English language instruction for the center’s adult education participants
Close and broad collaboration with various professional communities and stakeholders
You contribute to a strong learning culture, a focus on internal development, and the sharing of knowledge and experience
Qualification Requirements
Approved teaching certification in English as well as relevant education in pedagogy
Applicants must have a minimum of 60 credits in career counseling. Exceptionally extensive and relevant work experience may, in some cases, compensate for a lack of formal education.
Certification in—and experience with—various guidance tools and pedagogical analysis is preferred
experience with career learning activities, in the form of guidance and courses
strong written and oral Norwegian language skills and communication skills
Strong digital skills
Class B driver’s license
It is also an advantage to have
Good knowledge of the national initiative on quality in career guidance
Good knowledge of upper secondary education
Knowledge of the education system and the labor market in Norway and internationally
Knowledge of, or experience with, IKO work in upper secondary education
Knowledge of, or experience with, employees undergoing restructuring processes
Knowledge of, or experience with, the administrative agencies NAV and the county government
Experience working with digital tools
