Gjøvik High School has a full-time (100%) permanent position available for a special education teacher, starting October 12, 2026.
We are looking for someone who
- has a background in special education and teaching qualifications at the elementary and middle school level in mathematics, English, and science
- have extensive experience providing special education to students with various accommodation needs
- have experience developing, evaluating, and implementing individual education plans (IOP)
- work well in a team with teachers and student counselors and collaborate effectively with students and parents
- have a positive outlook on people and strong caring and collaborative skills
- are eager to work with students with multiple disabilities
- has a high work capacity, is creative, flexible, and solution-oriented
- is development-oriented and has experience with school development work
- enjoys being a homeroom teacher
