Hamar Cathedral School has an opening for a permanent position as an environmental advisor (up to 89%) to start as soon as possible.

The Environmental Advisor assists with instruction, actively participates in the school community, and helps ensure students achieve meaningful learning outcomes through necessary support both inside and outside the classroom. Key qualities for this role include strong collaboration skills and the ability to be flexible.

About the Position

  • 89% permanent position available immediately
  • work location: Hamar Cathedral School
  • Supporting students, student groups, the school environment, and participants in the “Find Your Way” program
  • Professional collaboration
  • The school environment counselor works a compressed work year, i.e., 8 a.m.–3 p.m.30 days over 38 school weeks, plus five planning days, and time off during school breaks
  • The person appointed to the position will be assigned a job code based on the position’s requirements, education, and experience, in accordance with applicable laws and agreements
  • In the event of an internal appointment, a corresponding one- or two-year position may become available

Job Responsibilities

  • Support and monitor students with various needs for special accommodations
  • Support students or groups of students as needed, thereby laying the foundation for learning through mastery, secure attachment, and an adapted learning environment
  • Help boost students’ self-esteem and self-awareness in the learning environment
  • Help reduce absenteeism
  • Participate in community activities aimed at improving the learning environment at the school
  • Be an active contributor in the school’s common areas
  • follow up with participants in the “Find Your Way” program
  • tasks are assigned by the school’s coordinators for adapted education or the head of the educational support department

Qualification Requirements

  • Relevant 3-year university or college degree or vocational certificate in health and social care or child and youth work
  • Relevant experience from similar work in high school is an advantage
