Hamar Cathedral School has an opening for a permanent teaching position of up to 100%. We are looking for a teacher with teaching certification in Norwegian and at least one other subject.

We are looking for someone who

  • has teaching certification in Norwegian and at least one other subject. Qualifications in German and/or social studies will be an advantage
  • have experience and a good understanding of working with multilingual students
  • enjoy working with young people and are a clear and confident teacher
  • exercise good classroom management and prioritize students’ learning and the learning environment
  • see opportunities and are ambitious on behalf of the students
  • is positive, flexible, and development-oriented
  • has strong collaboration skills and contributes to the professional community

About the positions

Job Responsibilities

  • monitor students’ learning
  • collaborate on the planning, implementation, and evaluation of instruction

Qualifications

  • Formal academic and pedagogical education as described
  • Requirement for teaching certification in more than one subject
  • Teaching qualifications tailored to the student group in the elementary school program for students with minority language backgrounds are desirable
  • Strong digital skills
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
