Nord-Gudbrandsdal Upper Secondary School has a full-time (100%) permanent position available as department head for the preparatory education program (sports and academic specialization) starting January 1, 2027.

About the Position
- 100% permanent position available starting January 1, 2027
- As a department head, you will be part of the school’s leadership team. You will be responsible for leading and developing your own departments, while also actively contributing to the overall operation and development of the school
Job responsibilities
- educational leadership and development of the department(s)
- staff management and close supervision of employees
- monitoring students’ learning outcomes, absences, well-being, and school environment
- Planning and organizing school operations in the school administration system (VismaInSchool)
- Working on quality improvement and monitoring the school’s results
- Collaborating with students, parents, and student services
- Contributing to the efficient use of resources within the school’s framework
- Actively participating in the school’s leadership team and sharing responsibility for the school as a whole
- Other leadership and operational tasks as needed
Qualification Requirements
- School leadership training. Experience in school leadership may substitute for formal education
- Relevant higher education qualifying the candidate to teach
- Pedagogical competence and experience from the school system
- Experience teaching in upper secondary education is desirable
- Thorough knowledge of the Education Act and the school’s social mission
- Strong digital skills, including familiarity with school management systems; VismaInSchool
