Description

Nord-Østerdal High School has a full-time (100%) position available as a social worker/student assistant, to start immediately and continue through the 2026–27 school year

We are looking for someone who

  • wants to work with young people who are still developing and who have additional needs for support and assistance in their daily school life
  • has the ability to identify each student’s individual needs, and tailor their approach accordingly
  • have strong collaboration skills
  • the ability to build good relationships with students and staff
  • have strong digital skills
  • have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

About the Position

  • up to a 100% position through the 2026–27 school year
  • follows the students’ school year (89% salary)
  • Start date as soon as possible and by agreement
  • There may be opportunities for extension into the 2027–28 school year

Job Responsibilities

  • Supporting students with special needs, creating a safe and positive learning environment through community engagement and teamwork
  • building and maintaining positive relationships with students
  • providing individualized support to students according to established plans
  • other duties as needed by the school

Desired Qualifications

  • certificate in child and youth work
  • other relevant education
