Job Description

Kompetanse has a full-time (100%) temporary position available from January 4, 2027, to November 12, 2027, as an advisor in the Examinations and Documentation Unit. The primary responsibilities will include producing documentation for vocational education and training and independent candidates, processing applications from independent candidates, and maintaining procedure descriptions within the field. In addition, you may be asked to assist with examination-related work at the school owner level in upper secondary education.

About the unit

The position is part of the Department of Competence and Dental Health at Innlandet County Municipality. The Section for Vocational Training and Educational Programs consists of 37 employees and is organized into three units (Vocational and Professional Training, Admissions and Educational Programs, and Examinations and Documentation). The Examinations and Documentation Unit has 6 employees and has overall responsibility for organizing studentand private candidate examinations in Innlandet County, as well as the issuance of trade certificates, diplomas, and certificates of competence for the Vocational and Professional Training Unit. The unit works closely with high schools and participates in regional and national exam collaborations with other counties. The field of examinations and documentation is evolving. If you’d like to help develop this area in accordance with laws, regulations, and established guidelines, you may be the right person for us.

About the position:

  • 100% temporary position

  • Work location: at the county administration building in Hamar
  • Some travel is to be expected

Job Responsibilities:

  • Issuing trade certificates, journeyman’s certificates, diplomas, and certificates of competence for Vocational Education and Training
  • Case management within the unit’s areas of responsibility
  • Preparation of documentation for independent candidates
  • Responding to inquiries, both verbally and in writing, related to the unit’s areas of responsibility
  • providing information and guidance
  • collaborating with other units, counties, and organizations in areas relevant to the position
  • contributing to the development of the position’s areas of responsibility
  • Contributing to the planning, implementation, and quality assurance of student and independent candidate exams in collaboration with the county’s high schools as needed
  • Other duties may be assigned to the position

Desired qualifications:

  • Relevant higher education, minimum bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in upper secondary education and knowledge of administrative procedures
  • Experience with examination administration and the issuance of diplomas and certificates of competence in upper secondary education
  • strong ability to communicate with our users, schools, and other partners
  • strong digital skills
  • preferably experience with InSchool, PAS, VIGO, and Elements
  • strong written and oral communication skills
