Lillehammer Upper Secondary School is looking for a dedicated Head of Department for a permanent 100% position.

Lillehammer Upper Secondary School (LVS) is a large and exciting combined school with approximately 1250 students and 220 employees. The school has three school sites (department South, department North and Kringsjåtunet). The school has a total of 12 different educational programs, which gives our students good choices.

The school has a vacancy for a 100% permanent position as head of department. The workplace will be at department South. The desired start date is as soon as possible, or by agreement. The position will cover the head of department responsibility for several subject areas, including Norwegian, social studies and physical education. Subject combinations in the department are not static - these can be changed based on overall considerations. You will be part of the school's management team, which consists of the principal, assistant principal and 12 heads of department (6 in the south department, 5 in the north department and 1 in Kringsjåtunet)

The assistant principal is responsible for the north department. Of the 12 heads of department, one is responsible for the south department and one for Kringsjåtunet.

Tasks

  • operate and develop the school together with the school's management team, teachers and other staff in line with national guidelines
  • personnel responsibility
  • educational follow-up, guidance and development of staff
  • quality assurance of follow-up work around the individual student
  • leader - follow-up of students
  • various administrative tasks and/or teaching will be included in the position depending on the competence and composition of the management team
  • budget follow-up
  • cooperation with parents and external partners where relevant

Desired qualifications

  • experience as a school leader. Experience from upper secondary school is an advantage.
  • Experience from educational change and development work and can show good results.
  • experience with professional, educational and administrative systems used in the school sector, such as VISMA and Microsoft Office
  • good ICT skills and interest in using ICT as a management tool
  • knowledge of structures, procedures and legislation in upper secondary schools
  • , routines and legislation in upper secondary school
  • good verbal and written presentation skills
  • education in educational management is desirable
  • have teaching skills to teach in upper secondary school
