Head of department Career Innlandet Lillehammer - 100% permanent position

Career Innlandet Lillehammer is a department in Career Innlandet, in Innlandet County Council. The unit is located in the section for Regional Competence Development, and takes care of the county's tasks within career guidance and adult learning. Karriere Innlandet consists of nine regional career centers.

The career center for the Lillehammer region is located at the county hall in Lillehammer. Together with the unit and the eight other career centers in the county, the department in Lillehammer will meet both the short- and long-term skills needs in Inland Norway. We will increase the level of education, ensure good access to qualified labor and help to strengthen the adaptability of the business community.

Career Innlandet Lillehammer collaborates on guidance and training services with labor and business, municipalities and NAV. The career center will take care of the need for career guidance for residents over the age of 19, newly settled refugees, refugees from Ukraine and for applicants and participants in upper secondary education for adults.

With its 29,000 inhabitants, Lillehammer is often referred to as the "valley city" because the city is located at the gateway to Gudbrandsdalen. The term links the town closely to the valley and its culture, and serves as a cultural and geographical identity marker for Lillehammer as a regional capital. The Olympic town of Lillehammer and the surrounding municipalities have fantastic hiking terrain.

Lillehammer has a diverse business community with an emphasis on tourism, experiences, public administration and health and education. The region is a hub for ICT, service and knowledge-based jobs, as well as agriculture. The business structure is characterized by a mix of tourism companies, hospitals, universities and strong service industries.

About the position

100 % permanent position as head of department for Karriere Innlandet Lillehammer. The Head of Department has the personnel and administrative responsibility for the department, and shall facilitate good routines for educational and vocational choices.

The Head of Department reports to the Head of Unit/Rector of Career Inland, and is part of the management group for Career Inland. The management group for Career Inland consists of the nine heads of department for the regional career centers and the unit manager/principal.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant education at master's level is desirable. Lack of formal education can be compensated with significant relevant practice
  • advantage if you have pedagogical education
  • broad professional understanding of regional competence development and adult learning
  • leadership skills and experience
  • experience from school management and school leader training is desirable
  • good collaboration skills
  • good communication skills, written and oral
