The Department of Transport and Communications / Road Section / Development has two 100% permanent vacancies for Construction Manager

The development unit will contribute to the road section achieving its set goals in accordance with the politically adopted action and improvement program for county roads. The unit has its own portfolio with responsibility for finance, SHA, external environment, contract preparation and strategy, contracting of contractors and follow-up of contractors in the development phase. The unit has employees in project management, construction management, control engineers and client support.

About the positions

  • two 100% permanent positions
  • place of work: Hamar
  • The positions are part of a collaboration with several disciplines with a broad client environment at the Road Section
  • The person appointed to the position will be placed in a position code depending on the requirements for the position, education and experience, cf. legislation and agreements

Tasks

We are looking for construction managers who have a good understanding of the construction manager role. You will have technical and financial responsibility for your own projects. Professional expertise is a prerequisite, but it is equally important that you are tidy and have the ability to express yourself well orally and in writing and that you have good collaboration skills. Your contribution will be important for a good result for the entire department.

  • assist in the zoning plan phase as needed
  • preparation of construction plan and contract documents
  • assist in the choice of contract strategy
  • coordinate the work with other professional groups
  • implement the procurement in collaboration with client support
  • lead the implementation of contracts with the contractor
  • follow up and have contact with landowners, cable companies, other affected parties, media, and other authorities, etc.
  • promote the delivery of projects in terms of HSE, economy, time and the right quality
  • ensure that our system of governing documents is prepared and relevant regulations are followed in our contracts
  • contribute to the work for a serious construction industry in collaboration with the client environment and the construction industry
  • handover of completed measures to operations, and assist operations as a professional resource when needed
  • follow-up of implementation agreements
  • new and other tasks may be added to the positions

Qualifications

  • have relevant education from university or college, minimum 3 years
  • if you have extensive and relevant experience, and good personal qualifications for the position, we can disregard the educational requirement
  • experience from road projects, preferably with bridge or concrete expertise
  • communicate well in Norwegian, both written and oral. Minimum level C1 (CEFR)
  • driving license class B
