The Department of Transportation / Road Section Unit Operations has a vacant 100% permanent position as a control engineer.
To strengthen our implementation capacity and ensure good progress, quality and delivery, we want to hire a control engineer to assist in several operating contracts.
About the unit

- The road section in the transport department in Innlandet is responsible for the operation and ordinary maintenance of approx. 7000 km of county roads with bridges and tunnels, heavy repair assignments and paving, development of roads and pedestrian / cycle paths and operation of the Randsfjord ferry etc.
This position is part of the Operations unit, which is responsible for the following deliveries:
- Professional operation of the road network, with high quality, which provides good and safe accessibility, incl. emergency, corrective maintenance
- . inspections, object and condition registration

About the position
- 100% permanent position
- Extensive travel must be expected
- Place of work Gjøvik, Lillehammer, Hamar, other office locations in Inland Norway may be considered after an overall assessment
- The person appointed to the position will be placed in a position code depending on the requirements for the position, education and experience, cf. law and agreements
Tasks
- assist in the follow-up of operating contracts based on needs throughout the county
- be a deputy for control engineers in the unit when needed
- professional support for construction managers and control engineers
- follow up the operational information system
- contribute to the uniform execution of operation and maintenance measures
- maintain good contact with road users and the road's neighbors
- perform control for crossings and local roads
- assist in collaboration, start-up and termination of contracts
- assist client personnel in the event of major weather events
- contribute to the further development of interaction with other units and sections
- assist construction managers with agreements with road neighbors/third parties
- report to the construction manager on the contract and assist the construction manager in the follow-up of the contract with the contractor
- prepare good control plans, carry out spot checks on work carried out by the operating contractors on the contract, and document and report inspection results
- it must be expected to move out from home to carry out inspections in the event of special incidents
- account for inspections carried out in construction meetings
- enter and process data in NVDB
- follow up the contractors' quality systems and HSE work
- work in close collaboration with construction managers, control engineers and contractors
- new and other tasks will be added to the position
Qualification requirements
- have relevant education from technical college, university or college
- if you have extensive and relevant experience, and good personal qualifications for the position, we can disregard the educational requirement
- have extensive relevant practical work experience, minimum two years
- driver's license class B
- communicate well in Norwegian, both written and oral. Minimum level C1 (CEFR)

- relevant experience from construction, operation and maintenance of roads
- good knowledge of digital solutions, with the ability and willingness to use new tools
