Description

Would you like to work on electrical engineering projects for critical infrastructure in the Innlandet region—and help create safe, modern, and future-oriented county roads? The Transportation Department/Road Section has a full-time (100%) opening for an electrical engineer specializing in the design, monitoring, and operation of electrical systems on the county road network. The position is based in Lillehammer, but Hamar or Gjøvik may be considered for the right candidate.

Special Projects is one of 11 units within the Roads Division and comprises various disciplines in geology, electrical engineering, condition assessment, tunnel management, monitoring stations, pavement, and road markings

About the Position

As an electrical engineer in the Special Production unit, you will be part of a strong professional environment specializing in electrical engineering, roads, operations, and development at Innlandet County Municipality. You will work on exciting projects within the county road network and contribute throughout the entire project lifecycle—from planning and design to implementation and management.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary design team, where you will collaborate closely with designers in other disciplines within the section.

The position focuses primarily on the design of electrical systems, combined with follow-up during the implementation phase. In addition, you will support the construction manager in monitoring and managing electrical contracts, thereby playing a key role in the realization and further development of our facilities.

You will also work closely with external consultants and contractors.

  • Work location: The work location is Lillehammer, but Hamar or Gjøvik may be considered for the right candidate.
  • The successful candidate will be assigned a job code based on the position’s requirements, education, and experience, in accordance with applicable laws and agreements.

Job Responsibilities

  • design, 3D modeling, and sizing of electrical systems—transportation
  • monitoring and oversight of external design work
  • technical support to the development unit during the implementation phase
  • preparation and quality assurance of technical documentation
  • contribution to the preparation of bidding documents
  • participation in projects involving both capital construction and maintenance
  • collaboration with contractors, consultants, and authorities
  • Supporting the construction manager in monitoring the electrical contract
  • Coordinating with other cable agencies
  • Other electrical-related tasks

Qualification Requirements

  • We are looking for someone with an interest in electrical engineering who wants to contribute to the development and operation of the county road network—whether you are a recent graduate or have several years of experience
  • Relevant education from a college or university (minimum bachelor’s degree)
  • Relevant experience and practical training may compensate for a lack of formal education
  • Recent graduates are encouraged to apply—you will receive excellent support and development opportunities with us
  • For those with experience, there will be excellent opportunities to take on responsibility and contribute professionally to projects
  • Strong skills in using ICT tools
  • Class B driver’s license
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in Norwegian (minimum level C1)
  • The candidate must be eligible for authorization under the Security Act
