The Transportation Department/ Road Section

To strengthen our implementation capacity and ensure good progress in ongoing and upcoming initiatives, we want to hire 1-3 project managers in 100% positions in the Operations unit.

About the unit

Inland County Council is a key community development player in Inland Norway. We have been tasked with building a modern, forward-looking and flexible organization that is able to fulfill its mandate as an active community developer in a good way.

• The road section in the transport department in Innlandet is responsible for the operation and ordinary maintenance of approx. 7000 km of county roads with bridges and tunnels, heavy repair assignments and paving, development of roads and pedestrian / cycle paths and operation of the Randsfjord ferry etc.

This position is part of the Operations unit, which is responsible for the following deliveries:

• Professional operation of the road network, with high quality, which provides good and safe accessibility, incl. emergency, corrective maintenance
• Condition-based maintenance planning, incl. inspections, object and condition registration

The content of several of the positions can be adapted to expertise, experience and interest in the disciplines.

• has relevant expertise and experience in road operation and maintenance

• have knowledge of rules and regulations in relevant fields

• has the ability to handle input and commitment from affected parties
• is flexible in terms of work tasks
• wants to work in an innovative working environment where the development of digital solutions for contract follow-up in road operation and maintenance is an important focus area

About the position

• 100% permanent position
• the position will be part of a management team for the unit
• the position is part of a collaboration with several disciplines with a broad client environment in the road section
• some travel must be expected
• place of work Gjøvik, Lillehammer or Hamar. Other office locations in Inland Norway may be considered following an overall assessment
• The person appointed to the position will be placed in a position code depending on the requirements for the position, education and experience, cf. legislation and agreements. legal and contractual requirements

Tasks

• be deputies for others in the unit when needed
• professional support for construction managers and control engineers
• assist construction managers with overall contract and financial follow-up
• . and financial follow-up
• contribute to the announcement of operating contracts and choice of contract strategy
• contribute to the uniform execution of operation and maintenance measures
• assist in the planning and execution of construction work
• contribute to close cooperation with internal and external partners and be an active driver to create development and good collaborative relationships
• contribute to the follow-up and development of quality tools
• contribute to the implementation and follow-up of new digital solutions for contract follow-up
• assist in collaboration, start-up and termination of contracts
• assist with competence development of client personnel and contractors in various processes related to the contract, both theoretical and practical on the road
• assist client personnel during major weather events
• assist with innovation/development of operation and maintenance
• assist media inquiries
• contribute to the further development of interaction with other units and sections
• assist in preparing strategies and purchasing materials
• assist construction managers with agreements with neighbors/third parties
• assist in planning and preparation and implementation of action programs.
• assist in the follow-up and development of climate and environmental measures
• assist in the follow-up of the entire process of simple surface treatment (planning, purchasing, execution, evaluation and correction)
• new and other tasks will be added to the position

Qualification requirements

• have relevant education from technical college, university or college
• if you have extensive and relevant experience, and good personal qualifications for the position, we can disregard the education requirement
• have a minimum of two years of relevant work experience
• driver's license class B
• communicate well in Norwegian, both written and oral. Minimum level C1 (CEFR)

Desired qualifications

• experience from construction, operation and maintenance of roads
• good knowledge of digital solutions, with the ability and willingness to use new tools
