Trysil High School has an opening for an 85% permanent teaching position in the Construction and Civil Engineering program. The position involves teaching program-specific courses at the Vg1 and Vg2 levels in the carpentry program.
We are seeking a dedicated teacher with solid practical experience in the industry and strong subject expertise who wants to make a difference for young people in high school. As a teacher in the Building and Construction Technology program, you will have the opportunity to share your experience and professional expertise with students who will go on to a wide range of careers.
It is preferred that applicants have completed the PPU (Pedagogical Professional Education), but applicants who have not completed the PPU may also apply. Permanent employment requires approved pedagogical and professional training. We welcome applicants with a journeyman’s certificate, a technical college degree, an engineering degree, or other relevant background.

About the Position

• 85% teaching position within the Vg1 and Vg2 educational programs in Building and Construction Technology, available starting November 1, 2026
• form teacher duties may be assigned to the position
• start date as soon as possible
• The successful candidate will be assigned a position code based on the requirements of the position, education, and experience, in accordance with applicable laws and agreements
• The unit is located in Trysil

Job Responsibilities

• Teaching and monitoring students in collaboration with other teachers and school administration
• Guiding and motivating students
• Developing the school in collaboration with colleagues and business representatives

Qualification Requirements

• Journeyman’s certificate or higher education in the field of building and construction engineering
• Solid practical experience in the field of building and construction engineering
• Good ICTskills
• strong communication skills, both written and oral

• Class B driver’s license
