Karriere Innlandet Hamar is seeking a full-time (100%) teacher who can teach Norwegian as a second language, Norwegian, social studies, and English.

About Karriere Innlandet Hamar

The Career Center is part of the Adult Learning Unit and Innlandet County Municipality’s initiative focused on career guidance and adult learning. The Career Center’s responsibilities include career counseling, upper-secondary education for adults, and facilitating decentralized vocational college and higher education programs.

The Career Center collaborates with the labor market, the business community, municipalities, and NAV to provide guidance and training services. The Career Center is responsible for meeting the career guidance needs of residents over the age of 19, newly settled refugees, refugees from Ukraine, and applicants and participants in adult upper secondary education.

In addition, the Career Center is tasked with coordinating career guidance in K-12 education (coordination of the guidance counselor network). The aim of this work is to increase cooperation, collaboration, and knowledge sharing among the various guidance providers and stakeholders in the labor market. This coordination is intended to contribute to coherence in the career guidance services offered.

We are looking for someone who

  • has teaching qualifications in Norwegian as a second language, Norwegian, social studies, and English
  • we prefer that you have a combination of these subjects
  • have experience teaching adults and multilingual adult participants at the elementary and high school levels
  • have experience working with basic skills such as reading, writing, and arithmetic
  • have experience with assessment (Migra)
  • Experience with VOV and FOV is desirable
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to guide and motivate participants
  • Be flexible and have strong collaboration skills
  • is able to see each participant as an individual and demonstrate flexibility in teaching

About the Position

  • Full-time (100%) position as a general education teacher
  • Must be prepared to handle some coordination within the 13 modularized subjects
  • Start date: September 1, 2026
  • You will be employed by Innlandet County Municipality and based at Karriere Innlandet Hamar, located in Hamar

Job Responsibilities:

  • Teaching adults at the upper secondary level in general education subjects
  • Assessing candidates
  • facilitating effective and flexible training programs
  • engaging participants in learning and assessment activities
  • ability to provide participants with feedback that promotes learning
  • participating in various projects at the career center
  • contributing to subject teams, the department, and shared collaborative forums

Qualifications

  • You have an approved teaching degree
  • You have strong digital skills and are motivated to use various software
  • You have strong communication and classroom management skills
  • You are a clear and engaged teacher
  • You have the ability to build strong relationships with participants and colleagues
  • You are development-oriented, flexible, and open to change
