Valdres High School has an opening for a temporary position of up to 100% as a student counselor, starting August 17, 2026.

About the position

• The work year follows the school calendar and includes pay deductions due to school breaks
• Up to 100% temporary position
• Available starting August 17, 2026

Job Responsibilities

• Assist students with various functional variations
• Assist students in the classroom, in small groups, and individually
• Facilitate learning and development
• Collaborate with teachers, student services, and others
• Professional development within the professional community
• Job duties are based on the students’ needs

Desired Qualifications

• Certificate in child and youth work or other relevant education and work experience
• Experience working in schools and/or with youth is an advantage
• Experience with milieu therapy may be an advantage
• Relevant work experience may, in certain cases, compensate for a lack of formal education
