Valdres vidaregåande skule has a vacant 100% permanent position as head of department from August 1, 2026.
The position's main responsibility will include the department of sports subjects, restaurant and food subjects and common tasks such as safety service and emergency work at the school etc.

About the position
- 100% permanent position as head of department available from 01.The position is part of the school's management team and has the rector as its immediate manager
- personnel and financial responsibility for its department
- the position's main responsibility will include the department of sports subjects, restaurant and food subjects
- the position has overall academic and educational responsibility for its own department
- overarching common tasks are emergency preparedness and safety work in collaboration with the rector. Other areas of responsibility may be added to the position
- professional responsibility is otherwise assessed in the context of the applicant's qualifications and the overall expertise of the management
- teaching may be added to the position
- the person appointed to the position will be placed in a position code depending on the requirements for the position, education and experience, cf. legislation and agreements

Qualification requirements
- relevant university or college or college education - at bachelor's/master's level
- formal education in leadership/educational management/principal education and/or leadership experience
- good knowledge of upper secondary education
Desired qualifications

- good professional understanding of the upper secondary school's tasks and responsibilities
- relevant educational experience and knowledge
- good communication skills, written and oral
- teaching skills in school subjects
