We are looking for a senior consultant in general internal medicine for a summer position at the Medical Department in Hamar in the period 22 June-23 August 2026 (all or part of the period). It is desirable that applicants can work a minimum of three weeks during this period
We primarily want applicants with experience from internal medicine shift work. At the same time, we also encourage consultants who want clinical work without on-call to apply.
Experienced LIS in internal medicine will also be considered.

Medical department Hamar has a local hospital function for approx. 70,000 inhabitants. The department has 44 beds and intensive care capacity. The patient population covers the entire breadth of general internal medicine, including heart, stroke, gastro/hematology, endocrinology/kidney and infection/lung diseases.
Hamar and the surrounding area offer a variety of outdoor and cultural activities for all age groups. In recent years, Hamar municipality has had a particular focus on urban development and good opportunities for children and young people to grow up and participate in activities. The town is beautifully situated on the banks of Lake Mjøsa, with a short commuting distance to other towns in Lake Mjøsa and Oslo, as well as easy access to Oslo Airport.

Tasks

  • Visits and follow-up of patients on the ward
  • Supervision and guidance of LIS
  • Participation in general internal medicine duty schedule (10-part), with somewhat increased workload in the summer period
  • Outpatient work possibly by appointment

Qualifications

  • Norwegian authorization
  • The applicant must be fluent in written and oral Norwegian
  • Ability to work independently and structured
  • Ability to work interdisciplinary
  • Personal suitability will be emphasized
  • Desirable with knowledge of DIPS Arena, Metavision and speech recognition
