About the Position

As a pipe welder with us, you’ll play a central role in the installation, renovation, and maintenance of district heating networks. The position is based in Karlstad, but travel may be required.

You’ll work on a variety of projects in different environments, both outdoors and indoors, and be involved in the entire process from preparation to completion. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, solving problems, and taking responsibility for ensuring the job is done right.

Job Responsibilities

As a pipe welder, you’ll perform hands-on work involving welding, installation, and maintenance of pipe systems within the district heating network. The work primarily involves gas welding (Gas 311) of carbon steel, as well as repairs, modifications, and replacement of culverts.

You will also be responsible for the installation and assembly of heat exchangers, working from blueprints, performing self-inspections, and maintaining associated documentation. You will work both independently and collaboratively with colleagues. Safety and quality are an integral part of the job, as is helping one another and solving the challenges that arise along the way.

Qualifications

  • Documented experience as a pipe welder
  • Very strong proficiency in gas welding (311) on black materials
  • Ability to work independently and find solutions in practical work
  • Class B driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Stick welding on black (MMA 111)
  • TIG welding (TIG 141)
  • Experience in district heating, industry, or HVAC
