Do you want to help shape the future of Jokkmokk municipality? Are you a strategic and committed leader with solid experience in finance? We are now looking for a financial manager who wants to lead and develop our financial work, contribute to sustainable development and be an important piece of the puzzle in the Business and Society Department's management team.
As Finance Manager, you will report directly to our Municipal Manager and belong to the Business and Society Department, where the Municipal Board is our political committee. As our Chief Financial Officer, you will be an important strategic partner to the municipal management and politics. You will be responsible for coordinating and developing financial management and ensuring that the municipality achieves good financial management. The municipality has a relatively large investment volume for a small municipality where you as CFO contribute to sound financial planning.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In the role of Chief Financial Officer, you have overall responsibility for the municipality's strategic and operational financial work. Your tasks include, among other things, to:
- Managing, developing and motivating the staff of the finance department
- Coordinate and be responsible for budget, follow-up and closing processes
- Being the municipality's main expert in financial matters and supporting the administration and its activities
- Responsible for financial planning, forecasting and analysis for both short and long term
- Drive and develop financial management and monitoring processes
- Present financial reports to management, committees and boards
- Participate in and support the development of the municipality's digitalization work in the financial area
- Ensure that the municipality works in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and good accounting practice
- Participate in and support the work with procurements and agreements
- Actively contribute to the overall business development and be part of the Business and Society Department's management team
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for candidates with an academic degree in economics, such as an MBA or equivalent. You have several years of experience in advanced financial work from the public sector and are used to working both strategically and operationally.
We would like to see that you have previous experience as a manager or leader and are used to leading and developing employees. You have good knowledge of municipal finances, legislation and governance, as well as experience of working in a politically controlled organization.
You are confident in your role as an expert and have an analytical approach with the ability to see the big picture. You are communicative, pedagogical and find it easy to build trust and cooperate at different levels. Experience of digital tools and systems in finance is an advantage.
As a financial manager in Jokkmokk municipality, you need to be a committed, responsible and solution-oriented person with a great interest in society. You are unpretentious, relationship-building and used to working both independently and in teams.
You enjoy working in a wide-ranging role where you can use your strategic ability as well as your operational skills. You have high integrity and well-developed judgment. You are driven, proactive and motivated to contribute to societal benefit and development.
