As a fish coordinator, you have an important role in running projects and developing the state of knowledge regarding fish ecology and the state of existing fish populations that are used by the public in Jokkmokk municipality. WORK TASKS During the bare ground season, a large part of the work consists of practical efforts in the field, with some outdoor activities also during the winter. The winter half of the year is mainly devoted to compiling results from completed measures and surveys, and to planning the coming field season. You will drive development forward by identifying the need for new investigations and projects. An important part of the role is to lead consultation groups and act as a driving force in the dialog with various stakeholders, such as authorities, companies (for example Vattenfall's annual releases in the Lule River), fishing associations and Sami villages. You are responsible for communicating results and outcomes in a clear and engaging way. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you who have: - academic education in natural sciences or education/work experience deemed equivalent - experience of working with biological monitoring, such as electrofishing, fish migration control, fish tagging and e-DNA sampling - good sea experience with a boat - some knowledge of the Environmental Code and in particular the legislation on water activities, as well as knowledge of the regulations for the management of fish resources - driving license at least B You have good written and oral communication skills in Swedish and English. You are used to working independently, and have experience of compiling results and writing reports. It is an additional advantage if you have experience of professional or voluntary work in fisheries management. As a person, you are outgoing and committed and are used to working independently. You take initiative and have the ability to start, run and finish projects. The work is both practical and theoretical and you should enjoy working in an environment characterized by development and challenges.
