Kiruna municipality is looking for a manager for the urban planning department's planning unit.
As unit manager for the planning unit, you report directly to the department manager for the urban planning department.
The city planning department is tasked with creating the conditions for an even more attractive and successful Kiruna. Together with the residents, we must plan and realize an attractive and sustainable municipality where residents, visitors and businesses can thrive and grow. The urban development department organizationally belongs to the municipal management administration and consists of three units with a total of approximately 30 employees. The department is led by a head of department.
Kiruna is large enough for all specialist knowledge to be in place at the same time that we are close to each other, both within and outside the municipality's organisation.
As head of the unit, you will have a key role regarding the entire municipality's planning issues. You are responsible for leading the unit and, together with the staff, developing it. You have an important role in the relationship with residents, businesses, landowners, developers, companies, associations, authorities, other activities in the organization and politicians. You are responsible for issues related to strategic community planning through, among other things, detailed planning work. You have a holistic perspective and see planning issues as an important part of the municipality's operations. You are inspired and driven by development in collaboration with other actors in a municipality where the pace is high.
You have budget, personnel and work environment responsibility. You are responsible for preparing matters for the municipal board within the unit's areas of responsibility and you report to the head of department for the urban planning department.
You have a relevant university or college education, preferably with a focus on civil engineering, physical planning or other education or experience that the employer deems appropriate. Experience from strategic community planning is important. We would also like for you to have a few years of experience in the tasks described above.
We are looking for someone who has experience working as a manager/leader and has the ability to independently plan, lead and develop the business. Experience from work in public administration/politically controlled organization is meritorious.

Driving license B is desirable.
