JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
We are now looking for an outgoing communications specialist who wants to contribute to the work of Kiruna2029.
In this role, you’ll work broadly with communications issues within a large organization. You’ll play a significant role and collaborate with managers, colleagues, and external partners. In addition to your core responsibilities, you will support the various departments in their day-to-day communication. You’ll move seamlessly between different target audiences and channels. You’ll implement the project’s communication strategy in line with the bid book, while also executing and following up on specific communication initiatives.
We offer a stimulating position with significant responsibility for planning and execution. The role involves taking ownership of your own assignments and is a key part of the ongoing work to develop communications for Kiruna2029.
The role requires on-site presence in Kiruna; business travel may be required.
Kiruna 2029 is a project organization within the Municipality of Kiruna that reports to its own committee. After the project period ends, the project organization will be dissolved.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with a college degree in media and communication studies or equivalent education or experience. You have a strong understanding of visual identity, tone, and graphic guidelines. Experience in the public sector is a plus.
You have experience with operational communications work, branding, and planning, implementing, and following up on communications initiatives in assignments and projects. You can analyze communication needs, tailor messages to different target audiences and channels, and translate strategy into practice. You are also confident in conducting training sessions and inspiring others.
The role requires you to work independently, in a structured and proactive manner, while also demonstrating strong collaboration skills, the ability to prioritize, make well-considered decisions, and adapt to changing circumstances. You are responsive to the organization’s needs, humble, and possess good judgment.
You are outgoing, enjoy speaking to both small and large groups, and find it easy to build trusting relationships, both internally and externally.
Creativity, teaching skills, and a holistic perspective are important qualities. Knowledge of the local and national arts and cultural scene is a plus. You are confident in expressing yourself in Swedish and English. Knowledge of Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish is a plus.
Strong skills in social media and digital communication.
Basic graphic design skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe programs, or equivalents) and video editing.
Experience with web publishing (e.g., WordPress, SiteVision, or similar)
You hold a Class B driver’s license
Great importance is placed on personal qualities.
