JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a cultural strategist, you’ll work on culture-driven community development based on Kiruna Municipality’s cultural strategy. In this role, you’ll work on projects in the cultural sector, maintain contact with stakeholders both within and outside the municipal group based on the cultural strategy’s priority areas, and help ensure that cultural perspectives are represented in processes related to the city’s relocation. In the years leading up to, and during, the 2029 European Capital of Culture year, you will primarily carry out your work in collaboration with the European Capital of Culture organization and participate in related projects. You will also be responsible for the Culture and Education Administration’s work on culture in schools, which includes planning schools’ cultural offerings and projects within the framework of the “Skapande skola” state grant. You will be part of the Culture and Education Administration and report to the Director of Culture. You will be part of the Culture and Education Administration’s office and will collaborate with the office staff to fulfill the goals and activities of the Culture and Education Committee. QUALIFICATIONS We expect you to have a post-secondary education in the field of culture, or other related education that the employer deems relevant. You have professional experience in cultural promotion or cultural development. You have strong verbal and written communication skills in both Swedish and English. You hold a Class B driver’s license. Experience working in a politically governed organization—such as a municipality, region, or state agency—is a plus. As a person, you are able to work independently, set priorities, and are flexible and solution-oriented. You think strategically and take a long-term perspective. You are skilled at collaborating and enjoy working with others toward shared goals.   We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
