WORK TASKS
We are looking for a committed and experienced head of department for the social services' individual and family care, IFO, who wants to be involved in leading our department consisting of just over 60 employees and 5 unit managers. As Head of Department, you will have a central role in developing and refining our social services to meet the needs of our users and citizens based on the new Social Services Act and its adaptations going forward. You will report directly to the Head of Social Services and be part of his/her management team together with 3 other Heads of Department and a Head of Operations. The administration's administrative unit is currently part of the Department for Individual and Family Care.
In your role, you are expected to contribute to the development of the entire social administration as part of the administrative management to find common solutions based on the prevailing conditions. We work together so that everyone in Kiruna municipality can grow up and grow old in a safe municipality where you are close to help and support.
You are responsible, loyal and flexible. In addition to the needs of our users, you are sensitive to your employees and the needs of the business. We are now starting work on the unit managers' work environment where you will drive the work for IFO.
You will share and comply with the municipality's values RASK, respect, responsibility, collaboration and communication.
Duties:
- Lead and develop the department of social services IFO.
- Responsible for budget and staff.
- Ensure that operations comply with applicable laws and guidelines.
- Collaborate and network with other departments, other administrations, civil society and external actors.
- Drive goals and improvement work both in the short and long term.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for an experienced and knowledgeable leader in the field of social services. You have a relevant university education and it is an advantage if you are a trained social worker.
You have experience of managing and developing an organization and experience of responsibility for staff, finances and operations, preferably in the public sector. You are familiar with the laws and regulations governing the field. Your leadership style is characterized by clarity, determination and enthusiasm. You have the ability to visualize and think outside the box, which allows you to see new solutions and communicate them to your colleagues. By building strong relationships and collaborating with different stakeholders, you create a positive work culture and good conditions for cooperation. You have strong communication skills. Some years of leadership experience in social services is desirable.
