Then you now have the chance to take on the role of Head of the Finance Unit at the Finance Department, Kiruna Municipality. The finance department in Kiruna municipality is a support function for the administrations. At present, the department consists of three units, the Accounting Unit, the Financial Control Unit and the Purchasing Unit. The Accounting Unit and the Financial Control Unit will be merged into one unit, the Finance Unit, and it is for this new unit that we are now looking for a manager. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES As Head of the Finance Unit, you have a key role in driving change and development within the municipality's finance function. You work closely with the business to ensure an efficient organization and delivery of high-quality financial services to the administrations. You will play an important role in developing your staff and the work culture as a whole. You will have budgetary and personnel responsibility for 15 staff in the finance unit. The role of Head of the Finance Unit includes, but is not limited to: - Staff responsibilities - Driving the development of culture, leadership and people - Attracting, developing and retaining competent staff - Work environment responsibilities and responsibility for systematic work environment management (SAM) - Budgetary responsibility - Leading change and development work within the organization - Ensuring that the finance unit meets both current and future requirements - Developing structure and working methods - Driving the development of business work processes You will report to the Head of Finance and be part of the Finance Department's management team. You will work in close collaboration with the management team and with your colleagues. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you with several years of managerial and leadership experience, as well as experience in budget responsibility and working in a management team. You have a post-secondary education in economics and/or management, or experience deemed equivalent by the employer. You will have a general understanding of the workings of a finance department, but do not need to be an accounting expert. The focus of the position is on developing the organization, processes and people. You thrive in a role where change and development work is a central part. Experience of IT-based financial work is an advantage, as most of the development that takes place in the department is IT-related. As a person, you are unpretentious, responsive and create trust with both employees and the management team. Your strong commitment to relationship building and collaboration will enable you to create effective teams and a good working environment. The role involves both operational and strategic challenges, and you have the ability to quickly familiarize yourself with new areas, see connections and create a whole. Fluent Swedish in speech and writing is a requirement. Knowledge of English is an advantage. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
