WORK TASKS Kiruna City Library is in an exciting phase due to new premises in Kulturhuset Aurora, centrally located in the new city center. If you want to be part of creating Kiruna's future library operations, this is the position for you. The position is a combined public and school librarian position due to the fact that Kiruna City Library also includes school library assignments. You work 50% as a children's librarian at the city library with a special focus on reading promotion efforts aimed at children and young people, digitally and in the room. Work with visitors at the information desk, media planning, purchasing and sorting is also included. 50% of your position is as a school librarian. Here, too, the reading promotion mission is in focus with, for example, book talks, reading projects and author talks. You will also work to strengthen students' media and information literacy. You will work together with the existing school librarian towards all schools in the municipality, but your main workplace is located in the city library. You will be part of the Children's and School Library team together with a school librarian, a children's and youth librarian and a library administrator. QUALIFICATIONS You will have a degree in library and information science. You need to have a good knowledge of literature, especially children's and young people's literature, and be comfortable with digital tools. You need to be able to speak in front of large and small groups and have a good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. As a person, you are creative, structured and have good collaboration skills. To thrive in the role, you should enjoy working with children and young people and be able to independently plan and implement activities for them. You can organize and structure your work and follow up and evaluate results. You enjoy new experiences and challenges.
