JOB DUTIES The position involves working as a native language teacher in the municipality’s elementary schools and at the reception unit for newly arrived students at the Language Center. Academic guidance is provided in close collaboration with the school’s or reception unit’s teachers and serves as a way for students to advance their Swedish language skills while building on their prior subject knowledge. You will be part of a team of other native language teachers and academic advisors in a variety of languages, working closely with the reception unit’s staff. You will also work closely with elementary school educators at the various units. The position may include administrative tasks related to students and schoolwork, as well as coordinating communication with guardians, school staff, and government agencies, among others. Start date to be agreed upon. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with a teaching degree. You must have very good knowledge of Swahili; you also need good knowledge of Swedish, and knowledge of English is a plus. You can express yourself clearly both verbally and in writing. You have experience working with newly arrived students, possess pedagogical knowledge and experience, and are well-versed in educational work with children and students in the Swedish school system. You are flexible, take initiative, and can adapt your approach and actions to the situation. You have strong collaboration skills, are independent, and are goal-oriented. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. You will need to be able to travel between different locations as part of your work, and you may need to use your own car for work-related purposes.
